Chemistry

Chemistry can be hard to understand the concepts and apply the theories to problems. How do we teach chemistry in a way that helps students understand and remember the material? One approach is to use an analogy. Analogies can help students see the similarities between two things that are otherwise very different. For example, in order to explain how atoms combine to form molecules, a teacher might use the analogy of assembling LEGO blocks.

Another approach is to break down complex concepts into smaller pieces. Once students understand the basics, they can put the pieces together to form a larger picture. This was demonstrated by one teacher who used the analogy of building a tower out of small bricks.
